Hey Team Kenya! This is my first blog post so excuse me if I don't know exactly what I am doing. Anyway, for those of you who do not know me my name is Sam Yager and at age 20 I am apparently one of the "old geezers" of the group. I live about 25 miles outside of Washington DC and am super excited to be going on this trip with all of you! It is amazing how much things have changed in the past year for me; this time last year I was beginning my first semester at George Mason Universtiy in Northern Virginia and I am now taking online classes at Liberty University; not only that but I did not ever think I was going to Kenya up until a few months ago...I just felt the sudden desire to go back on a missions trip (I went to Nicaragua my senior year of high school and absolutely loved it) and found out about AIM because I couldn't go on the World Race, a yearlong missions trip because I wasn't 21 yet. I enjoy doing whatever God would have me do, whether it is playing sports with kids, construction, or just being in a bible study. Perhaps the one thing that you all should know about me is that I have a prosthetic right leg due to a birth defect and while it took 18 years for me to become okay with it, I thank God every day that he decided to create me the way I am. I can't wait to hear from you all over the next few months as we prepare to embark on the journey of a life time together.
In Christ,
Sam
