Words cannot describe the way I am feeling right now! Can you believe that all of us are only a month and a half away from being in Kenya! I'm not sure about all of you but it is like my heart is already there. Everyday I can't help but wake up and think about this mission trip and the life changing plans God has for each of us. I find myself checking up on our blogs and even previous blogs from other groups that went to Kenya daily (sometimes even twice a day).
I will try to hold in my excitement for just a few minutes while I tell you a little story about how AWESOME our God is and how when He calls, He provides. Like most of us, God called me to go on this mission trip with little to no time to raise the money. Let's all be honest now and say how overwhelming raising $5,400 is to people our age, with college, minimum wage jobs, and stuff like that. On top of that, only having a few months to do so seems almost ridiculous. Needless to say I was overwhelm, terrified, and questioning if God would ask me do something so...well...CRAZY. I took a step in faith though. I knew that the Holy Spirit was calling me to Kenya and so I rested my faith in that truth, becoming fully dependent on God's provision. MAN DID GOD COME THROUGH! I am now sitting here writing this blog with all the money needed for the trip and more (enough to cover even my extra expenses for the trip)! Beyond that, God did it in only ONE MONTH! Feelings? Humbled, in awe, overwhelmed, undeserving, amazed, grateful, thankful....who am I to deserve such a great God?
I am writing this to remind each and every one of youhow Great our God is and that He is a PROVIDER. I know that it is crunch time with money and all and this is where the doubts really start to kick in. Satan thrives on even a hint of doubt. DO NOT let him! Rest your faith in what the Holy Spirit has made clear to you. God will provide in His time and wejust need to await that provision (as well as do are very best to raise the money obviously). Stay strong and devote yourselves to prayer. Remember this truth, "Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”'(Matthew 19:26)!
Praying for all of you,
Jeremy
